The Cathedral City Traffic Bureau consists of 3 police officers and a sergeant. These officers ride BMW motorcycles and are out on the streets enforcing the California Vehicle Code. Top priorities for these officers are looking for vehicles that are speeding, seat belt violators, and people texting and talking on cellphones while driving. These officers have the unfortunate duty of investigating all fatal traffic collisions that occur in the city.
Cathedral City Police Departments Traffic Bureau also runs DUI Check Points and participates in the Valley Motor Enforcement Team. They also have a program in which they go out to Cathedral City High School to teach driver safety and teach other driver safety classes for different organizations in the city.
