With the assistance of Cathedral City Police Department Detectives, Cathedral City Fire Department Arson Investigators have arrested suspect Jesus Abel Hernandez, 48 years of Cathedral City, for arson and insurance fraud in the suspicious fire and explosion that occurred at Carniceria La Michoacana on December 6th, 2011 during the early morning hours.

Cathedral City Detectives worked diligently throughout the late evening and early morning hours developing information and leads on the homicide that occurred last evening in the 68100 block of Ramon Road in Cathedral City. Utilizing investigative techniques, Detectives identified and located the suspect believed to have been involved in the homicide. Detectives conducted early morning surveillance on a residence in the 13500 Block of El Rio Lane in Desert Hot Springs, which resulted in the successful apprehension of the suspect, identified as 32-year old Armando Flores Carrillo. Detectives also served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence looking for additional evidence linking the suspect to this crime. The investigation is still on-going, and additional information will be made available as the investigation progresses. 

On 11/24/11, at about 2021 hrs, Cathedral City Police responded to a disturbance in the 68100 block of Ramon Road.  It was reported that there was a gunshot victim in the parking lot of a local business.  Officers arrived and found a thirty year old male laying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he was pronounced dead.

 

The victim’s name isn’t being released at this time pending notification of family.

On 06/16/2011, at approximately 2247 hours, CCPD Dispatch received a report of a stolen vehicle in progress in the 37000 block of Cathedral City Dr. Responding officers conducted an area check and saw the vehicle traveling N/B on Cathedral Canyon Dr from Perez Rd. On Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at about 4 pm, Cathedral City Police received information that Alanna Reichle, 33 years old of Cathedral City, was having an on-going sexual relationship with a 17-year old male victim. It will be a “Dog Day Afternoon” in Cathedral City’s Town Square on Sat. May 7^th, 12pm-4pm, as officers retire its current K-9, “Cedrik”, and raise money for a new K-9 to join the force.
